The province produces other grains like for example flax, oats, rye, canola, peas, canary seed and barley.

Saskatchewan's beef cattle production is another flourishing business, the second biggest in the nation following the province of Alberta. In the late 1990s, Bombardier was awarded a long-term contract for $2.8 billion from the federal government for the running of the facility and the purchase of military aircraft.

SaskPower was established in the year 1929 and has been the principal supplier of electricity within the province of Saskatchewan. The company serves more than 451,000 clients and manages over $4.5 billion in assets. SaskPower is a huge employer who has close to two thousand five hundred full-time permanent employees located within 71 cities.
