Forklift Attachments Estevan - The small city of Estevan is situated within the southeastern corner of the Province of Saskatchewan, by the Souris River. based on the 2006 statistic, the city has a current population of roughly 10,100 people. The city of Estevan is surrounded by the Rural Municipality of Estevan No. 5.

The first settlers in what was to become Estevan arrived in 1892, along with the expansion of the Canadian Pacific Railway. Estevan was incorporated as a village in 1899, and later became a town in the year 1906. On the 1st of March, the year 1957, Estevan obtained the status of a city, which, in Saskatchewan terms, is any community of at least 5,000.

The name origin is attributed to George Stephen's Registered Telegraphic Address, Estevan. George Stephen was the first President of the Canadian Pacific Railway from the year 1881 to 1888.

The city of Estevan was the site of the infamous Estevan Riot in the year 1913. Even if most of the strikers were from nearby Bienfait, the strike is associated with the city of Estevan because it was in this city that the demonstrators were met by members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. After the subsequent riot, which lasted 45 minutes, three strikers lay dead. It was later proven that the three miners had been killed by the RCMP. The miners had been organized by the Workers' Unity League.

The Estevan Mercury, the newspaper within Estevan ever since the year 1903, provides weekly distribution to its more than 3,600 paid readers. The newspaper also provides up-to-date news via editorial copy and local video in the World Wide Web at estevanmercury.ca. It also has as free distribution newspaper circulated all over Southeast Saskatchewan to over 9,000 homes; the Southeast Trader Express.

The Saskatchewan Petroleum Monthly newspaper referred to as Pipeline News is also based out of Estevan. There is a significant amount of oil production within southeastern Saskatchewan, in which the Pipeline News' main office is strategically situated to report on many of the matters. There is a free publication in circulation referred to as Estevan Lifestyles. This paper features numerous stories of the people in the city of Estevan and individuals in the southeast corner of Saskatchewan. The publication likewise publishes NewsBreak, a daily coffee paper that is geared towards a lighter reading.

CHSN FM 102.3 and CJSLAM AM 1280 are the two local radio outlets. Both are owned by Golden West Broadcasting.

Estevan has a humid continental climate, characterized by dry, cold and long winter months and short, warm and somewhat humid summer months. The mean temperature during January, the coldest month, is -14.8 C or 5.4 F. The precipitation in winter months is mainly snow, averaging 55.2 mm or 2.17 inches. Springtime is a short transitional season, with a mean temperature of 11.3 C or 52.3 F and 6.32 inches or 160.6 mm of precipitation, with significant snowfall during the month of April.
